Reasonableness of Normality

There’s a nothingness there,
A feeling of emptiness.
It’s eating away,
corrupting her mind.
There’s anger and hurt
building inside.
Blinding her to a reasonableness of normality.

There’s a nothingness there,
A feeling of emptiness.
It’s eating away,
corrupting her mind.
There’s anger and hurt
building inside.
Blinding her to a reasonableness of normality.
Slowly the fog is lifting,
There’s a glimmer of light shining through.
A belief that it may not be all that bad.
No jumping for joy,
or singing in the streets,
But a hope
that eventually all will be righted again
And she can once more breathe.
As the alcohol deadens her feelings
and sends her off into a place of nothingness,
There continues to be an underlying voice
constantly talking and mocking.
A voice that can’t be kept quiet.
Yet she continues to reach for more
in an effort to forget
and move on.
There’s a darkness that’s descending
Engulfing her
A shroud of self doubt and loathing.
She struggles to breathe.
Her mind is a myriad of images
and thoughts
Tangled in a web of despair.
